The Health Advisory Council for the FDA has voted to recommend over-the-counter sales of a weight-loss pill now sold only as prescription drugs.
The pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline hopes before the end of this year, customers will be able to buy the fat-blocking pill without a prescription. This will win the first over-the-counter diet drug for approval by the Food & Drug Administration. As a personal trainer is, of course, something that I would be worried.
You see, even if the pill provide safe weight loss, no change in lifestyle have been learned. What will happen is a limited time, weight loss, once again, that the pill has ceased to be used. In essence, it is the reverse steroid use. Just like the guys who get big muscles for 12 weeks, and then they lose everything, how fast the weight will come back for pill popping dieters. The reason is the lack of knowledge and commitment to do it slow and right path. The way that is properly applied strain.
The good news is that the pharmaceutical company still needs final approval by the FDA before it can sell about one-the-counter version of orlistat diet pill, which is now on prescription under the brand name Xenical sold. My concern is not with the chronically obese people who are vulnerable to health.
